IDENTIFIED

We have identified an issue with the new Windows version 2.7.0 of the Device monitor where the application can crash after running for a while. Participants will have to start the application again to continue monitoring. We are working on a solution and will keep you updated.

MONITORING

We have implemented a new version 2.7.1 of the Device Monitor for Windows. If you have version 2.7.0 installed, you are forced to update and will avoid the initial issue. The older version 2.6.0 can still be used until the July release. We will keep monitoring the situation and follow up with a Post mortem explaining the incident in further details.

RESOLVED

We have monitored the new implemented version and no further issues has been identified. The issue is resolved and a Post mortem will be made.

INVESTIGATING

We have identified an issue, where a FLOWmulti question of question type "Maths Essay" will block saving any subsequent answers if the word count limit is exceeded, even though it is possible to continue through the questions. If the word count is exceeded, the text editor will clearly be marked as having an error, by changing background color to light red. The immediate fix is to go back through the items and edit the text to be within the allowed word count. DO NOT reload, as that will mean loosing all answers entered since getting into the faulty state. We are working with our partner Learnosity to remediate this ASAP. In the mean time you have the following remediating options: - Avoid using Maths Essays OR - Set very high word count limits to prevent the participants from getting into the faulty state AND - Make sure it's allowed to go back to previous questions AND - Clearly instruct the participants that they MUST adhere to the word count limits

IDENTIFIED

The behaviour can be prevented by enabling the setting "Submit over Limit" which can be found under other options. Remember to add the updated version to your flows This applies to Maths Essay and Chemistry Essay. We are working on a fix to make this setting enabled by default.

IDENTIFIED

We have released patches for both authoring tools, ensuring that for any future questions created, "Submit over limit" will be enabled by default, preventing the situation from happening unknowingly to the author. Further more we have also identified that in the vast majority of cases, the participants will be shown a meaningful error message, when trying to submit, that will enable them to identify the issue and rectify it on their own, significantly reducing the severity of the incident.

RESOLVED

We have identified all customers with future flows that potentially needs to be adjusted to enable submit over limit. They will be contacted individually in due time before the exams.
